By default, the OneView dashboard will show you live status of all your IT systems.
OneView Dashboard – The Different Views ver. 6
- Live View
The live dashboard will tell you whether a problem requires your attention right now. As many as possible should have full access to the live OneView dashboard because it will actually help you get faster and more stable IT systems if you monitor and expose the current status. It will also put an end to the ever recurring discussions about slow IT systems.
If users are having problems that are not detected on the OneView dashboard, then you simply put up more monitoring on the dashboard. The monitoring that you have already set up will tell you all the parts of your infrastructure that does NOT have a problem.
- History View
Sometimes you need to see what the dashboard looked like this morning or this time last week. In order to do that you just press the “History” link in the upper right corner of your dashboard. From there you can adjust the time to that exact moment and see what the dashboard looked like back then. This is a handy feature when you want to know how many systems was actually affected by an error in your network at a certain time.
- Summary View
The Summary view next to the History view will provide you with the status of your dashboard over a certain period. By default, the summary view is 24-hour period. This view colors all the boxes in your dashboard with the color that each box has had for the last 24 hours. If a box has been green most of the time then most of that box is green in the Summary view.
The summary view will tell you if there has been a problem with your IT systems during the night – or at any given time within the selected period of time. Once you are in the summary view you can chose the period you want. In this view a 1-click operation provides you with a summary report.
